A brief meeting ...

Near HQ South, the commander of the Dorset coast area on his way back to his staff car meets with a man from intelligence ...
Commander: Any word on the german spies ?
The 'man': Not really, we believe they are operating out of the area around Freazingham. Thats all we can tell from picking up some of their radio signals - unable to get a firm triangulation.
Commander: Need me do do anything more ?
The 'man': Increase your patrols near installations; the police have been informed and are carrying out extra checks on people new to the area and are doing random checks of identity papers.
Commander:Thanks for the update, I'll see you the next time I'm up at HQ.....

Down by the estuary ...

Smith and Robinson (the german spies) had not been idle; they had collected information on naval craft in the area by watching the movements in the estuary and out at sea. As a cover for their activities they had linked up with a couple of young ladies to take on picnics and indulge in other activities ...

The weather was nice and they had gone down to their favourite spot on the estuary, where it narrowed and there was a small headland ...

While Robinson and the ladies decided where to setup the picnic, Smith looked out over the water...

a small steam ship, puffed by on its way out to sea....
a few minutes later a submarine passed 'up stream' ...
Smith made some quick notes and headed up to have a quick word with Robinson - they would have to try and get a closer look at the naval base further up the estuary ....

In Freazingham ...

Smith and Robinson are in Freazingham, they have walked down the busy high street and are on the way towards the sea front to evaluate the beach defenses, when they are stopped by a policeman ..

 Papers please gentlemen ...

They hand over their papers, the policeman checks them over;  thank you he says, then hands them back.  Smith and Robinson continue on their way ....

MTBs leave for patrol duty ....

At the entrance to an estuary from a large river, near to Freazingham-on-Sea, two MTBs slip out to start their daily patrol duty.....

---oXo---

The movement of the MTBs had not gone un-noticed, Smith and Robinson had been watching....
.. now they new where they came out - they needed to find the base and get close enough to get more information - critical as the MTBs would play havoc with any potential invasion landing

Mr Robinson meets his contact ....

After a difficult flight, the pilot had landed in a field on the down land, Lt. Abel jumped out of the plane and headed to the nearby woods, no sooner than he was on his way the plane took off and headed back to France ...

Lt. Abel  (Mr Robinson) oriented himself and found a barn where he spent the night. In the morning he made his way to the main road walking along it to the nearest village and caught a bus to Freazingham. There he made his way down the high street where he asked a local Policeman for directions to the church. He wandered up towards the church,  there was someone waiting in the road - perhaps his contact ....
Mr Smith (aka Schmidt): Good Morning
Mr Robinson (aka Abel): Yes it is a lovely day. I'm out for a for walk and wondered if you could tell me if there are there any dovecotes nearby ?
Mr Smith (aka Schmidt): No sorry, but there is a pond with geese and ducks.
the correct code phrases had been exchanged ...
Mr Robinson (aka Abel): Nice to see you again Mr Smith, shall we move on ..
Mr Smith (aka Schmidt):Yes let's go into the town and I'll take you to some lodgings I've arranged for you and after that we can make some plans......
